Présentation
The village's origins date back to the Gallo-Roman Francilio period, named after the chief of the time. Semicircular in shape, it was never fortified. Today, many old stone houses dating back to the 17th century remain.
Francillon became a full-fledged village with 311 inhabitants in 1845, having been a hamlet of Saoû until then. The village has a church, St Pierre, and 2 mission crosses: near the war memorial and on the church square. The last café, La Tonnelle, closed in 1987.
